How we work

A clear 5-step construction process that keeps scope, budget, and schedule under control from the first visit to final handover.

1

Site Visit & Consultation

A project manager visits your site, listens to your goals, takes measurements, and reviews existing conditions. We highlight any risks early and discuss realistic options.

2

Scope, BOQ & Timeline

You receive a detailed scope of works, itemised BOQ, and proposed schedule. We clearly define inclusions, exclusions, and payment milestones before work begins.

3

Approvals & Mobilisation

Where required, we coordinate with consultants, landlords, and authorities. Materials are ordered early and our team mobilises with a clear program and safety plan.

4

Execution & Supervision

Our crews handle structural, MEP, and finishing works with dedicated site supervision. We keep the site clean, organised, and share regular progress photos and updates.

5

Handover & Aftercare

Together we walk the completed works, close any snag list, and hand over warranties and maintenance guidance. Many clients continue with us for ongoing maintenance and small works.

Mini case study — Villa extension & outdoor terrace

How a ground-floor extension and terrace upgrade created more living space while finishing ahead of schedule.

Challenge

The family needed more space without moving, and wanted work completed before a fixed move-in date.

Malibu extended the ground floor to add a family room, reconfigured the kitchen, and built a shaded terrace with lighting and landscaping — all while keeping neighbours and community rules in mind.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on size and complexity. Smaller renovations can be completed in a few weeks, while full villa builds or larger fit-outs can range from a few months upwards. After the site visit we provide a realistic schedule with key milestones and a target handover date.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Malibu works with fully licensed trades and carries appropriate insurance for our activities. Copies of our registrations and coverage can be shared during our first meeting or upon request.

Can you work with my architect or designer?

Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with external architects, interior designers, and consultants. We provide buildability feedback, cost input, and site coordination while they lead the design.

When should I contact you about my project?

The earlier the better. Ideally, reach out 4–6 weeks before your preferred start date, or earlier if approvals are required. For urgent repairs or smaller works, we’ll let you know our earliest available slot.

Ready to discuss your construction or renovation project?

Share a few details about your property and timeline and we’ll get back to you with available dates for a site visit or call, along with an outline of the next steps.
